Biography:
na de la Reguera was born on April 8, 1978 in Veracruz, Mexico.
Being one of Mexico’s most recognized faces on film and television, Ana de la Reguera started her training in the peforming
arts at the Central Institute of Veracruz. She then moved in Mexico City and studied at Televisa’s Center for Artistic
Education, along with other Mexican celebrities Patricia Reyes Spindola, Rosa Maria Bianchi and Rafael Miranau. Ana de la
Reguera trained in TV Azteca’s Centro de Formacion Actoral with Raul Miranau.
Ana de la Ruguera participated in theater productions as well, including the play El Cartero, where her brilliant acting
skills were recognized by citing her The Best Actress by The Association of Theatre Journalists in Mexico and The Association of Theatre Critics and Journalists’ Most Promising Actress of the Year.
Ana de la Reguera’s acting prowess began to shine on television when she was cast in the Mexican telenovela Azul in 1996. This was followed by another soap opera, Pueblo chico, infierno grande in which she received the Heraldo Award for best female acting performance, and then by Desencuento, which was directed by Ernesto Alonso. In 1998 she moved to another production studio and worked on Tentaciones, as well as roles in Destino and Todo por amor, where she garnered a Palmas de oro award for her performance.
She as well starred in the first soap opera made for the US Hispanic audience, Cara o Cruz. The telenovela was later on aired in Mexico. She also became known as Maria in another soap opera entitled Por Ti, then in Pedro El Escamoso, which was a co-produced by Columbia’s Caracol and Mexico’s Telemundo. Ana de la Reguera’s face has graced various commercials and TV series including Intimamente Shanik, Chiquitos pero picosos, La venta icreible, Llevatelo and Al derecho y al Derbez.
Ana de la Reguera was acquainted to film when she starred in Por la Libre. She then appeared in other motion pictures such as Un Secreto de Esperanza, as well as Ladies Night and Gitanas. Ana de la Reguera entered the world of Hollywood she played the role of Sister Encarnacion in Jared Hess’ Nacho Libre, starring Jack Black. In 2006, Ana de la Reguera hosted the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America with the rock group, Molotov.
Her most recent works include the films Sultanes del Sur and Paraiso Travel.
