Mendes attended High School in Glendale, California and went on to attend California State University,

Northridge. Mendes dropped out shortly after enrolling at the University to pursue her acting career.
Mendes began her career appearing in music videos, including an appearance in Will Smith's video for his hit
song "Miami." She quickly moved to the big screen, taking a role in the critically-acclaimed Training Day.
Mendes has also appeared in Hitch, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Stuck On You and most recently We Own The Night,
where she starred alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, and Robert Duvall.

Eva Mendes is an international spokeswoman for Revlon Cosmetics and appeared in print and television ads for
the cosmetics company. Mendes is not only a spokeswoman for Revlon's products; she is a major supporter of
Revlon's fight against breast cancer. Mendes also supports the organization People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals (PETA), and appeared in an ad for their anti-fur campaign.
Although Mendes's achieved international success as an actress and a spokesperson, she has battled personal
demons. In 2008, the actress checked into a rehab facility in Utah for several weeks to work on a substance
abuse problem. Mendes is now out of rehab and recently spoke out about her substance abuse problem.
