Born in Perth on 6 August 1976, Melissa George is an Australian television
and film actress. George began her career as a model but first
shot to fame as an actress in 1993, when she was offered the role of Angel
Parish on the Australian soap opera, Home and Away. George won two Logies for
her portrayal of Angel on Home and Away but left the series
in 1996 to pursue other challenges.

Post-Home and Away, George posed nude for Australian Playboy magazine
and appeared in the television series, Roar. George soon moved to the
USA and appeared in several small film and television roles before
scoring the role of Lauren Reed on the television series, Alias. George landed
her first starring role in a film as Kathy Lutz in The Amityville Horror (2005)
and has since appeared alongside Josh Hartnett in the film 30 Days of Night.

Note: George is married to Claudio Dabed and has a step daughter, Martina.
